Letters to the Editor
Sir, The call to the minority community to adopt patriotism as a way of life and join the national mainstream in the RSS-sponsored two-day Nationalist Muslim Conclave was outrageous. Patriotism is not the exclusive preserve of the RSS. If the RSS indeed feels that the burning issues of the community relate to illiteracy, unemployment and disease, why did it oppose reservation to Muslims in employment in Andhra Pradesh? If K.S. Sudarshan can call upon Muslims to project a tolerant variant of Islam as against the jehadi variant, can Muslims not, by the same token, ask the RSS Hindus also to practise non-violence and tolerance propagated by Hindu dharma?
