Sir, The RJD chief, Lalu Prasad, has repeatedly claimed that the law and order situation in Bihar is normal. But the photograph of armed men blocking villagers at Sarsi (Feb. 16) tells a different story.

Sir, In every election, people brave threats and reiterate their faith in democracy. But what do they get in return? Things remain the same notwithstanding the tall promises made by political parties. At this rate, the day is not far when a new Gandhi will start a satyagraha against his own people.
