3 in race for SEBI chief's post
NEW DELHI,
FEB. 17.
India's Executive Director in the World Bank, C. M. Vasudev, and the Financial Sector Secretary, N. S. Sisodia, are among the front-runners for the post of SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) Chairman, which falls vacant tomorrow when G. N. Bajpai retires.
The Life Insurance Corporation Chairman, R. N. Bhardwaj, and the IDBI Chairman, M. Damodaran, are also in the race for the coveted post, official sources said, adding an announcement is expected soon.
Coming out of the North Block after meeting the Finance Minister, P Chidambaram, Mr. Bajpai told PTI that I had not yet got any letter from the Government (for an extension). PTI
