SBI to raise Rs. 4,000 crores

NEW DELHI, FEB. 17. State Bank of India is planning to raise Rs. 4,000 crores from the market in the next fiscal to meet its credit requirement. "We are examining the use of Rs. 3,000-4,000 crore extra capital next year. It could be raised as subordinate debt," SBI Chairman, A. Purwar, told reporters on the sidelines SKOCH summit here. — UNI
