German firm's `Intelligent buildings' solutions

BANGALORE: Merten GmbH, a 100-year-old German company, on Thursday launched in India innovative electro-technical system solutions for "intelligent buildings". Merten's business interests will be represented by Geo Switch, a Bangalore based firm. The Technical Director (Asia), Merten Singapore, Kyi Kyi Than, told presspersons that there was great potential in the Asian markets. Merten manufactures four different types of products and they provide intelligent solutions to homes, offices, hotels, schools and hospitals. The Director of Geo Switch, Pav Mahal, said given the pace and trend of villa construction, the company would be able to cater to a niche market.
