Newly-weds end lives

By Our Staff Reporter

KHAMMAM, FEB.17. Two young lovers, who got married on the Valentine's Day at the temple town of Bhadrachalam, reportedly committed suicide at Nayakangudem in Khammam district last night.

Police said Sunita (19), an Intermediate student of a college in Chivvemla in Nalgonda district, and Suresh (21), a student of an industrial training institute in Khammam, were in love for the last two years. The girl hailed from Vibalapuram in Mothey mandal of Nalgonda district.

They consumed pesticide on Wednesday night in a bus. The boy died instantaneously while the girl breathed her last while being shifted to a hospital.

Caste problem?

According to the information reaching here, caste had become a stumbling block for the couple to lead a family life. The parents of the girl, who belonged to OC, reportedly opposed her relation with the boy, an SC.

Fearing that that their parents would not let them live in peace, they might have resorted to the extreme step, the police said.
