Lok Satta to seek opinion on public transport system

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, FEB. 17. The Lok Satta will take up a mass contact programme between February 21 and 25 to gather suggestions and opinions on the public transport system in the State capital.

The State secretary of the people's initiative organisation, Bodepudi Satyanarayana Rao, on Wednesday released a pamphlet explaining the features of the existing transport system in and around the twin cities and the magnitude of the problem pertaining to increased private transport and pollution and decreasing road space. A brief questionnaire will also be given to the public along with the pamphlet.

The organisers estimate that even if one out of a 1,000 road users responded, they would have over 30,000 respondents to their questionnaire. The responses would be compiled and incorporated into the Lok Satta's action plan, which would then be submitted in the form of a memorandum to the Government on February 27, Mr. Satyanarayana said.
