MUMBAI, FEB. 17 . Harinder Gupta took a two-stroke lead over Ranjit Singh with nine birdies for a seven-under 63 on the penultimate day of the Airtel Open Golf. The Chandigarh golfer hit 15 greens-in-regulation and made 27 putts for a total of 202 at the par-70 Bombay Presidency Golf Club course, followed by Ranjit two strokes behind (204) and Mukesh Kumar (205) in that order. The 22-year-old overcame a thigh muscle strain to dominate day three, getting into groove with a 25-foot birdie on the par-five fourth hole, then excelled on par-four seventh with a chip-in from the edge after going beyond the green. Ranjit struggled on the 15th, with a double bogey, ending the day at four-under after making 28 putts. Mukesh's card of four-under 66 got him into third spot. He had just one birdie on the front nine, four on the way back. Mehul Rastogi is leading in the amateurs section, with a total of 238.
