Bellary
By Our Staff Correspondent
BELLARY, FEB. 17. M. Diwakar Babu, former Minister, has questioned the propriety of the Bellary City Corporation's decision to take possession of a building coming up on Balaji Road in the city. Terming the decision taken at the emergency general body meeting of the corporation illegal, Mr. Babu told presspersons here today that the unauthorised building is coming up on government land. He said the corporation should take steps to enquire as to whom the building belongs to and why the officials concerned are silent on the matter. Mr. Babu said he had submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner urging him to take steps to demolish the building. The Deputy Commissioner had obliged his request, he added. Meanwhile, the corporation, in its emergency meeting, resolved to take over the building in the absence of any claimants and auction it.
