No-arrest undertaking extended

CHENNAI, FEB. 17. The senior Sankaracharya of the Kanchi Mutt, Sri Jayendra Saraswathi, will not be arrested in connection with the "Tirukottiyur Madhavan assault case" till February 22, the prosecution told a sessions court here today.

When the Acharya's anticipatory bail plea in the matter came up for hearing before the Principal Sessions Judge, P. Murugesan, this morning, the City Public Prosecutor sought an adjournment. Posting the matter to February 22, the Judge extended the prosecution's no-arrest undertaking till that date.
