Farmer trampled to death by wild elephants

ERODE, FEB.17. Pasuvalinga Chetty(52) a farmer owning land in the Thalawady forest was trampled to death by wild elephants

According to police he had raised Ragi crop in the forest area. He along with two of his friends stayed in the land, to scare the elephants which enter the land.

On Wednesday early morning, three wild elephants entered the land, and started eating the crop. On seeing the elephants they raised a noise and tried to scare them. But the elephants started charging at them. In the mele Pasuvalinga Chetty fell down and he was trampled to death by the Pachydrems. He died on the spot.

Two others escaped unhurt.
