3,000 expected for youth festival

HYDERABAD,
FEB. 17.
Close to 1,900 delegates have confirmed participation so far for the National Youth Festival beginning here on February 21.
Over 3,000 delegates from all the States and union territories are expected to take part in the five-day meet.
As a countdown to the festival, a media centre for national and local media was inaugurated by the Information Minister, Mohd. Ali Shabbir, and the Youth Affairs Minister T. Harish Rao, at Ravindra Bharathi here on Thursday.
Talking to presspersons, the Ministers said 85 delegates would represent the State. Krishna Jinka would be the festival mascot.
They said arrangements were being made at a brisk pace for the Rs. 3-crore extravaganza aimed at showcasing the innate talent of the nation's youth. Kapil Dev, Mandolin Srinivas, Sania Mirza would interact with the youth during the festival, they said.
