All-party meet to discuss Girglani panel report
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD,
FEB. 17.
Finance and Legislative Affairs Minister, K. Rosaiah, said that an all-party meeting would be convened to discuss the Girglani Commission Report on the implementation of the Presidential order with regard to Government employment in Telangana.
Replying to a zero hour mention by the CPI (M) Floor Leader, N. Narasimhaiah, Mr. Rosaiah told the Assembly on Thursday that the Cabinet Sub-Committee on the subject would require some time to study the report which was tabled in the House on Wednesday. The General Administration and Law Departments would also have to do some homework in the meantime. It would be advisable to convene the all-party meeting after that.
Mr. Narasimhaiah said the Commission had pointed out several loopholes in the implementation of the Presidential order which if not rectified immediately would lead to regional imbalances.
Mr. Rosaiah said it would be the endeavour of the Government to arrive at a consensus on the implementation of the report.
