LUCKNOW, FEB. 17. Reliance Infocom targets to cover over 100 towns in Uttar Pradesh by month-end as part of its ambitious phase II network expansion, under which the company plans to reach 546 towns in U.P. and Uttaranchal. Reliance Infocom Circle CEO, V. V. Singh, said here today the CDMA-based mobile provider had already connected 64 new towns in Phase II in addition to 41 towns where it was already operating. The company plans to network 36 more towns in February to complete 100 by month-end. The towns being targeted this month include 20 in U.P. (West) Circle and 16 in U.P. (East) Circle. This would also provide Reliance coverage in about 200 villages falling under the periphery of these 36 towns. Mr Singh said the company would cover about 60 towns every month. - UNI
