Special court at Tihar

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI, FEB. 19 . A special court was held in Tihar Jail Complex here today to dispose of cases of petty offenders languishing in the jail. The court took up cases of 32 prisoners out of which 28 cases were disposed of and the remaining four were referred back to regular courts.

The cases were screened by the Finger Print Bureau of the Delhi Police to eliminate the habitual offenders. This was the 54th court in succession and till date 3, 245 cases have been decided by the special courts that were providing prisoners an opportunity to get their cases settled rather than wait for years to appear before the regular courts.
