HYDERABAD, FEB. 19. The projectwise irrigation allocations are also higher for the first time for the next financial year. Most of them are in three digits. The allotments made to individual projects under the earlier budgets mostly ranged from Rs. 10 to Rs. 100 crores. The small releases and that too in yearly instalments have delayed the projects in the past, especially mega ones, which require huge sums. According to sources in the Government, Telugu Ganga will get the highest amount of Rs. 567 crores. Devadula (Chokkarao Project) follows this closely with an allocation of Rs. 439 crores. Polavaram ranks third with Rs. 300 crores. The other important projects together with their allocations are: Sriramsaagr Flood Flow (Rs. 249 crores), Sriramsagar Stage II (Rs. 120 crores), Pulichintala (Rs. 129 crores), Kalvakurthi Lift (Rs. 200 crores), Pushakaram (Rs. 200 crores), Tadipudi and Yellampalli (Rs. 100 crores each), Somasila (Rs. 87 crores), AMR Canal (Rs. 108 crores), Bhima Lift (Rs. 65 crores), Gupta and Alisagar (Rs. 35 crores each), and Penna Ahobilam Balancing Reservoir (Rs. 139 crores).
