KARIMNAGAR, FEB. 19. In the wake of attacks on former naxalites by Maoists branding them as informers, a former dalam member of the Karimnagar district, Paka Ramesh, has constituted `Maoists vyathireka committee' (anti-Maoists committee) to protect all surrendered naxalites from Maoists and other naxalite groups. The committee is also aimed at curbing the activities of Maoists. Talking to select mediapersons in the Godavarikhani area on Saturday, Ramesh said the committee was constituted in the east division of the district and he had plans to spread its activities to the entire State. Making it clear that the committee had no links with the police, he said it was formed with all surrendered naxalites. "If we fail in our mission to stop the killings by Maoists, then we will approach the police," he added. He warned that the committee would retaliate every naxalite attack on the former naxalites in the rural areas.
