KAKINADA, FEB. 19. The president of the Computers Society of India (CSI), M.L. Ravi, has called upon students to strive for application of the advancements made in computer science and technology for catering to the requirements of people.

Participating as the chief guest in the inaugural of the national-level technical fiesta `Concours 2005' jointly organised here on Saturday by Kakinada Institute of Engineering and Technology (KIET) and the CSI, he said if the advancements made in science and technology fields were not able to cater to the requirements of common man, they would be of no use. C.R. Chakravarty, former director, Special Analysis Group, DRDO, Bangalore, said the thinking of students should be in such a way that it should benefit people. Stating that computer science was very much essential for society, he said, it could be effectively used in all subjects.
