Misty morning likely

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, FEB 19.FEB. 19.FEB. The Capital is likely to wake up to a misty morning on Sunday and there is a possibility of thunders towards afternoon or evening, the weatherman said. The sky is likely to become partly cloudy towards the later half of the day. The minimum temperature is expected to hover around 10 degrees Celsius.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at Safdarjung on Saturday were 23.2 and 9.3 degrees Celsius, while Palam recorded a maximum of 23.6 and a minimum of 9.7 degrees Celsius respectively. While Safdarjung and Palam recorded a maximum humidity of 90 and 87 per cent, minimum humidity at the two centres were 29 and 34 per cent respectively.

Two arrested

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, FEB 19.FEB. 19.FEB. Two persons have been arrested the North-East Delhi police for allegedly possessing narcotic substance.

Following a specific tip-off, the Anti-Auto Theft Squad of the North-East Delhi police laid a trap near Shyam Lal College in Shahdara on Friday. The suspects, riding a two-wheeler scooter, appeared on the scene around 2-30 p.m. While 1.2 kg of narcotic substance (charas) was recovered from one of the accused, identified as Munni Lal, another 600 gm of charas was recovered from the second person, Mukesh Munjal.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the two accused had procured the contraband from Uttar Pradesh and had come to the Capital to deliver the consignment to their contacts here.

A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act has been registered at Shahdara police station and further investigations are on.

Robbers held

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, FEB 19.FEB. 19.FEB. . Two young men have been arrested by the West Delhi police for allegedly involved in snatching mobile phones and stealing motorcycles. Two motorcycles and seven mobile phones have been recovered from them.

According to the police, Navin (19), a resident of Nangloi in West Delhi, and Naresh (22), also a West Delhi resident, were arrested by the Punjabi Bagh police on Friday when they were found to be in possession of a country-made revolver and a knife.

During interrogation, the accused also allegedly confessed to having been involved in snatching mobile phones and stealing two-wheelers.
