Workshop on bamboo

HYDERABAD, FEB. 19. S.K. Das, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, delivered the keynote address at the workshop on `bamboo for livelihoods' organised by the Forest Department here on Saturday. Mr. Das said bamboo used to meet almost 40 per cent of the total raw material requirement of pulp for paper industry in the State. However, with the change of technology and limitation of its availability, the industry had gradually switched to hardwoods.
