Head Constable suspended
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD,
FEB. 19.
The Hyderabad Police Commissioner, V. Dinesh Reddy, has placed under suspension a Head Constable, V. Ramesh, attached to the Chaderghat police station, for allegedly beating up one person.
An autorickshaw driver brought one K. Srinu to the Chaderghat police station after the latter failed to pay the auto fare. Srinu was in an inebriated condition. The Constable, along with a Home Guard, K. Satyanarayana, allegedly removed Srinu's clothes and thrashed him.
In his complaint, Srinu alleged that the personnel took away two gold rings. However, the police said that no evidence was found to confirm the allegation.
The Commissioner stated that Ramesh was suspended for misbehaving with the complainant which led to tarnishing the image of the Police Department.
