By Our Special Correspondent

VISAKHAPATNAM, FEB. 19. The Minister for Higher Education, Pinnamaneni Venkateswara Rao, on Saturday disclosed that a search committee has been constituted for choosing a new Vice-Chancellor to Andhra University after the term of the present incumbent expires.

However, he did not divulge the details but noted that there was still a month's time left before the term of the present Vice-Chancellor, Y.C. Simhadri, ended on April 2. The inquiry report on the latter had not reached him yet, the Minister said.

On the conduct of EAMCET this year, he categorically said that the EAMCET would certainly be held this year and there was no room for confusion or doubt.

The budgetary allocations for higher education were 10 per cent more than last year and Rs.40 crores was sought from NABARD for construction of buildings for junior colleges, he revealed.
