Kyoto protocol

Sir, — Now that the Kyoto protocol has come into effect, it will change the way we have been treating the environment.

In the race for development, it has never occurred to us how badly the environment has been affected. With 141 countries committed to cut down on their greenhouse gas emissions, it is hoped that the environment will get a better deal.
