Government colleges' performance blamed for poor results

By Our Staff Reporter

GUNTUR, FEB. 20. Corporate culture in education is not welcome, but in view of the non-performance of Government colleges, students were forced to opt for private colleges, the Union Minister for Coal and Mines, Dasari Narayana Rao, said here on Sunday.

At a function after inaugurating a High-tech library (NTR-Vignan `Vignan Dhara') in the Vignan Engineering College at Vadlamudi, 15 km from here, he said the sad state of affairs in education had forced him to start a college at Palakollu.

He appreciated the all-round development of a student's personality on which Vignan was concentrating rather than only on academics.

The success of chess star Harikrishna and Vignan students finding a place in the Limca Book for their 36-hour dance performance speak volumes about their efforts.
