Minister calls for affordable education
HYDERABAD,
FEB. 20.
The Union Information and Broadcasting Minister, S. Jaipal Reddy, has called for providing world-class education at affordable rates so that maximum number of people can access it.
Speaking at the inauguration of Lotus National School's Kushaiguda campus here on Sunday, Mr. Reddy noted that though school education had become of international quality, most schools remained outside the reach of the majority. He promised that the UPA Government was committed to implementing its agenda of reaching international quality education to the common man.
He added that it was only through quality education that India would progress and be able to hold its own in the new global economy.
K.I. Varaprasad Reddy, Managing Director, Shantha Biotech and K. Renuka Raju, Founder Correspondent of the School, spoke.
The Kushaiguda campus is the sixth school to be started by Lotus Learning System Society in the twin-cities and its suburbs. There is also one school each in Rajamundry, Kakinada and Warangal.
