Asian Peroxides to increase capacity
CHENNAI: Asian Peroxides, manufacturer of hydrogen peroxide, has chalked out plans to increase the capacity to 25,000 tonnes from 13,000 tonnes annually. Addressing presspersons here on Saturday, Shiv Dewan, principal promoter of the company, said the expansion would be done through installation of balancing equipment. The company had already achieved production capability of 18,000 tonnes through chemistry improvement and plan optimisation, Mr. Dewan said. Hydrogen peroxide was being used widely by textile and paper and pulp companies for bleaching purposes. The projected increase in textile exports triggered by the removal of quota systems would be the principal driver for the growth in demand for this product, Mr. Dewan said. Besides, the planned growth in the paper and pulp industry would add to the demand, he said.
