Cuddalore
By Our Special Correspondent
CUDDALORE, FEB. 21. Many shops and establishments in Cuddalore and Villupuram districts remained closed today, protesting against the introduction of the value-added tax. At Cuddalore, besides provisional stores and other establishments, even vegetable markets such as Panpari and Anna markets downed shutters. The commercial centres such as Lawrence Road, Bharathi Road and Netaji Road wore a deserted look. At Villupuram many shops on Bhagar Sha Street and M.G.Road remained closed.
