ERODE, FEB. 22. The Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board and Panayampalli panchayat have disconnected 76 unauthorised drinking water connections in Dhoddampalayam comprehensive water supply scheme at Panayampalli in Sathyamangalam taluk. Under the scheme, drinking water is provided to Panayampalli, Bhujanganure, Perisapalayam and Aanaikatty villages in Panayampalli panchayat. Some days back the Panayampalli villagers organised an agitation stating that several unauthorised water connections were functioning in the villages affecting the people. The officials noticed that instead of 21 connections, 76 unauthorised connections were provided in the Panayampalli village.
