MADURAI, FEB.22. A total of 100 final-year engineering students from 29 non-autonomous self-financing colleges in the State have found job placements at the State-level Placement Programme conducted by the Anna University here on Monday.
According to P. Mannar Jawahar, Director, Centre for University-Industry Collaboration, Anna University, the company had shortlisted 271 students in the first stage and conducted individual interviews.
Among them, 100 were successful and they would be given confirmation letters in two or three days, he said.
The successful students included 58 girls and 42 boys and they would get a monthly pay of Rs.20,000, Dr. Jawahar said, adding that the placement programme was a novel attempt of the university to provide job opportunities for students in all places.
