BHEL bags Tamil Nadu contract

NEW DELHI,
FEB. 22.
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), the public sector power equipment and engineering major, has bagged a contract for setting up a 58 MW combined cycle power project in Tamil Nadu. The project is to be executed by early 2006.
The order, valued at about Rs. 84 crores, has been placed on BHEL by Regency Power Corporation Limited, a venture promoted by KSK Energy Ventures Limited, a Hyderabad-based independent power producer (IPP).
The project will be set up at Kallugurani village in Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu.
