Genco's effective fuel management saves Rs. 120 cr.

HYDERABAD, FEB. 22. The APGenco has saved Rs.120 crores during 2003-04 by adopting Effective Fuel Management System (EFMS).

Genco's coal-based thermal stations also achieved an overall Plant Load Factor (PLF) of 86 per cent, the highest in the country, against the national average of 72.70 per cent, according to a press release here on Tuesday.

The Rayalaseema Thermal Power Station achieved the highest PLF of 92.20 per cent and stood first in the country, followed by the Kothagudem plant (91.90 per cent) and Vijayawada station (91.80 per cent) respectively

Addressing the 6th annual general body meeting of APGenco, principal secretary, energy, and its chairman, D.K. Panwar, said the Government was committed to supporting the power utilities to improve their operational and financial performance. He said the company achieved an aggregate turnover of Rs.4209.35 crores. He said the gross profit before depreciation was Rs.735.54 crores and the depreciation for the year was Rs.723.62 crores.

The company earned a net profit of Rs.10.46 crores during 2003-04.
