Governor to inaugurate Ayurveda hospital fete

KOZHIKODE, FEB. 22. The Governor, R. L. Bhatia, will inaugurate the golden jubilee celebrations of the Ayurveda Hospital and Research Centre and P. K. Warrier's Managing Trusteeship of the Arya Vaidya Sala (AVS) at Kottakkal at 10 a.m. on February 23.

He will also release the autobiography - Smritiparvam- of Dr. Warrier and also honour him by draping him with a ceremonial shawl.

The Kozhikode MP, M. P. Veerandrakumar, will preside over the function and the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) leader, Abdussamad Samadani, MP., will deliver the keynote address on the occasion. The inaugural function will be followed by a technical session.

Viad Sriram Sharma will unveil the portraits of S. Varier and P. S.Varier (Appu Varier), former chief physicians of the hospital.

Justice K. S. Paripoornan will present a paper on ``Act of charity as an ethical proposition'', the noted cardiologist M. S. Valiathan on ``Patient and his care - the Indian scenario'' and B. M. Hedge on ``Physician as a social being - the physical view and the practical need.''

A reception will be accorded to Dr. Warrier at 2.30 p.m. Sukumar Azhikode, critic, will inaugurate the programme
