Extended
COIMBATORE, FEB. 22 . The rural postal life insurance scheme has been extended to Neelikanampalayam Post Office. The office is also conducting a drive to involve more eligible public in this scheme.
Caught
Durairaj (26), an accused in a case relating to the murder of a girl at Sulur in 2002, emerged from the court after the case was adjourned to February 28. Walking on the corridor, he took the police escorts by surprise. He leapt over the balcony railing and landed on the ground below. By the time, he regained his balance and made a dash for the gates, police swooped on him. A case has been registered at the Race Course police station.
Dies
Kalimuthu had swooned after having lunch. It is said that he might not have washed traces of pesticide off his hands and these might have got mixed with the food he took. His relatives thronged the District Collector, Kosalaraman's office and demanded that the unit pay compensation to the family of the deceased.
Terminated
