BANGALORE, FEB. 22. A 45-year-old man and his son, an engineering student, committed suicide by jumping in front of a train at Jalahalli on Tuesday. The police gave the names of the dead as S. Somashekar, a letter composer at the Government Printing Press in Peenya and a resident of HMT Layout, and his son, Harish Kumar (19), a 1st year BE (Computer Science) student of M.V.J. Engineering College in Channasandra. The police said the two were run over by the Bangalore-Shimoga passenger train around 3.45 p.m. It is said that Somashekar was in debts.
