BANGALORE, FEB. 22. Over 500 people have met the Mayor, R. Narayanaswamy, for redressal of problems related to delay in khata transfer, khata registration and plan sanction in the last three days. A few days ago, the Mayor had asked people who had problems in obtaining a khata, getting a khata transferred or a plan sanctioned to meet him with all relevant documents in his chamber during office hours. "This has got a good response. After receiving the complaints, the Mayor has instructed the officials concerned to expedite disposal of pending files. He has also asked them to be present in office between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. so that the grievances could be solved on the spot," a BMP press release said. "Only such people with problems that can be solved under the purview of the Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act can approach the Mayor. Cases pending before judicial courts will not be attended to," the release said.
