Isolated rain likely in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI FEB. 23. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema and Kerala. Dry weather prevailed over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in Centimetres are: Tiruchendur (Tuticorin dt.) 5, Sivagangai 4, Ambasamudram (Tirunelveli dt.) 3, Radhapuram (Tirunelveli dt.) 2 and Tuticorin and Punalur 1 each.

The minimum temperature rose appreciably at one or two places over Rayalaseema, north interior Karnataka, rose at one or two places over Interior Tamil Nadu and changed little elsewhere over the region.

They were appreciably above normal at a few places over Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, above normal at a few places over Kerala at one or two places over rest Tamil Nadu, rest Andhra Pradesh, appreciably below normal at one or two places over coastal Karnataka, below normal at one or two places over rest coastal Karnataka and were generally normal over the rest of the region.

Belgaum Airport recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 15 degree Celsius in the plains of the region.

FORECAST (valid until Friday Morning): Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Kerala. Mainly dry weather will prevail over Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

Farmers weather bulletin for Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry (valid until Friday morning): Isolated light to moderate rain is likely to occur over Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.

Outlook for subsequent two days: No significant change.
