This Day That Age
Mr. Ghazanfar Ali Khan, Pakistan High Commissioner to India, has said that restrictions on the Indo-Pakistan border should be removed, thus providing an opportunity to the people of both sides to move about. Addressing the students of the Khalsa College at Amritsar, the High Commissioner said that the outstanding disputes between India and Pakistan were bound to be solved. He expressed the hope that through Prime Minister Nehru's efforts, differences between the neighbouring countries would disappear soon. He said Mr. Nehru was universally respected for his efforts for peace as he was endeavouring hard to save humanity from ruin. Referring to the demand of the Sikhs that they should have free access to their gurdwaras in Pakistan, Mr. Ghazanfar Ali Khan said: "I personally feel that some time should be fixed every year when Sikhs could visit their gurdwaras in Pakistan without any kind of restrictions."
