Letters to the Editor
Sir, This refers to the report "CPI (M) to work for third front" (Feb. 23). By issuing warnings and threats to the UPA from time to time, the Left parties are only reiterating that they are wielding authority without responsibility.
Sir, It is all very well to talk of a third front but where is the political space for it? The two broad coalitions, UPA and NDA, led by the two main national parties, have established a kind of bi-party system by default. A third front will become a lobby for bargaining with the first and second fronts, and an agent of political instability.
