TDP MLA's suspension revoked
By Our Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD,
FEB. 23.
The Assembly Speaker, K. R. Suresh Reddy, today revoked the suspension of the Telugu Desam MLA, N. Janardhan Reddy, after he expressed regrets over his remark against Congress members in the House on Tuesday.
The TDP's senior leader, Y. Ramakrishnudu, expressed regrets on behalf of Dr. Janardhan Reddy, who was under suspension. Soon after, the Speaker announced that the suspension was revoked following a resolution to that effect moved by the Legislative Affairs Minister, K. Rosaiah.
Mr. Ramakrishnudu contended that his colleague had made the remark due to provocation from the Congress side. Without readily conceding the request for lifting the suspension, the Speaker suggested that the revocation could be done only if the member expressed regrets or the Telugu Desam did the same on his behalf.
