PONDICHERRY, FEB. 23. The Madras Bar Association president, K.R. Tamizhmani, accompanied by the senior Government pleader of Pondicherry, T. Murugesan, presented a cheque for Rs. 7 lakhs to the Chief Minister, N. Rangasamy, recently for reconstruction of the government middle school in Kalikuppam village in Kottuchery commune in Karaikal. The school was damaged in the tsunami of December 26 last year. Mr. Murugesan said here today that the association had intended to contribute to a specific work in the context of the tsunami. The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the Bar Association for its gesture. He had suggested that the association contribute for the reconstruction of the school building. The Pondicherry Government-owned Agro Services and Industries Corporation (PASIC) would take up the reconstruction work.
