CHANDIGARH, FEB.23 .The Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at the PGI is hosting the sixth Annual Conference of Neuroanaesthesiology and Critical Care here from February 25 to 27 and it will be inaugurated by the Haryana Governor, A.R.Kidwai. Addressing a joint press conference here today, the Chairperson of the Conference, Jyotsna Wig, the Organising Secretary, V.K.Grover, and the Adviser, G.S.Kochar, said that about 500 delegates are expected to participate. The first day will be primarily devoted to continuing medical education (CME) programme aimed at teaching post-graduates, post-doctoral students and junior faculty members. The second and third days will be devoted to the main conference. The deliberations during the conference will include recent advances and update in Neuroanaesthesia, anaesthetic management during brain and spine surgery and a symposium on chronic backache and chronic pain syndromes conducted by eminent neuroanaesthesiologists, neurosurgeons, neurologists and orthopedicians. This symposium will also address common queries of the patients. The doctors said that the other topics would include the contribution of anaesthesiologists in cerebrovascular surgery,brain tumours, interventional neuroradiological procedures and epilepsy surgery.
