By Our Special Correspondent

CHANDIGARH, FEB.23. The Haryana Board of School Education has claimed "unprecedented success" in conducting the middle annual examination which concluded today.

Cases of copying, paper cancellation and shifting of centres declined sharply, according to the Board Secretary, Rakesh Gupta.

He said that cash prizes would be given to 29 teachers, 48 police personnel and the panchayats of village Jaitipur in Panipat district for their commendable contribution in the smooth conduct of examinations.

He disclosed that the Board's flying squads booked 698 cases of unfair means and only one case of impersonation whereas last year the number of unfair means cases was 1006. This year 180 people were arrested under section 188 IPC for violating the prohibitary orders.
