NEW DELHI, FEB. 23. The Delhi Chief Minister, Sheila Dikshit, today said that to make the Capital a clean city it was necessary to involve the citizens in the various eco-related programmes. Inaugurating a four-day "Eco-Meet 2005" at the National Bal Bhawan here, Ms. Dikshit said management of garbage, control of pollution and improvement of general sanitation were necessary to make Delhi a world class city. "This is only possible if the Government works in tandem with the citizens," said Ms. Dikshit, who also administered an eco-pledge to the students besides handing out 65 certificates of recognition to leading Eco Club Schools. Ms. Dikshit -- who was accompanied by the Delhi Environment Minister, Raj Kumar Chauhan -- also visited an environment-related exhibition put up by children from across the Capital on the occasion.
