Welder found murdered in Hoskote taluk

BANGALORE, FEB. 23. A 26-year-old man was found murdered at Ancharahalli in Hoskote taluk of Bangalore Rural district on Wednesday.

The police said that the assailants had slit the throat of Aslam and stabbed him in the abdomen. Aslam, a welder, was a resident of Old Post Office Road in Hoskote town.

He told his mother that he will be going to a Qawali programme and left the house on his motorcycle around 9.30 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Wednesday morning Aslam's body was found near a vineyard at Ancharahalli on Boodigere Road. His motorcycle and footwear were missing, the police said. The Hoskote police have registered a case. The police said Aslam was an accused in a murder case.

Chain snatched

A youth snatched a gold chain worth Rs. 20,000 from Suma Ramesh in Girinagar police station limits on Wednesday.

The police said the incident occurred around 12.45 p.m. on 9th Main, 3rd Stage, Banashankari. After snatching the chain, the youth escaped on a motorcycle on which his accomplice was waiting at a distance. The Girinagar police have registered a case.

Commits suicide

Rajeshwari (18) committed suicide by hanging herself at her employer's house in Ashoknagar police station limits on Wednesday.

The police said Rajeshwari, a native of Gonicoppa in Madikeri district, was working as a maid at the house of Shivaraju, a businessman, in Richmond Town.

As Rajeshwari was getting many telephone calls, Shivaraju's wife, Jayanthi, reportedly scolded her on Wednesday morning.

Around 9.30 a.m. when Jayanthi had gone to drop her son at school, Rajeshwari hanged herself, the police said. Shivaraju was reportedly asleep when the incident occurred. The Ashoknagar police have registered a case.

Theft

A thief cut open a bag a pawnbroker was carrying and stole gold ornaments worth Rs. 1.15 lakhs that were in it.

The incident took place on Nagarathpet Main Road around 9.30 p.m. on Tuesday when Rathanlal Jain was carrying the gold ornaments from his shop to his house, the police said.

The Ulsoor Gate police have registered a case.

Accused held

The Sampangiramnagar police have arrested Kuppuswamy (47) of Cuddalore district in Tamil Nadu on the charge of murdering his wife, Mylamma, on February 20.

The police said that following a quarrel, Kuppuswamy, who was residing on 7th Cross, 4th Main, Sampangiramanagar, attacked his wife with a machete.

Cellphones recovered

The Central police on Monday arrested Amjad (19) of Valmikinagar on Mysore Road on charges of theft and recovered from him seven mobile phones worth Rs. 50,000.

The accused had stolen the mobile phones from Central and New Tharagupet police station limits, the police said.
