2 schoolkids drowned

HYDERABAD,
FEB. 23.
Two boys -- M. Chandraiah (8) and Raju (9) -- drowned in an abandoned well near their school at Sherlingampally on Wednesday. Students of a local Upper Primary School, they were not seen after lunch hour.
While searching the area, an Intermediate student, Babu, told the Chandanagar police that he saw someone shouting for help from the nearby well around 1.30 p.m. The police called in swimmers and the bodies were retrieved. "There is no foul play. But, it is not yet known as to why the children went to that place," the Sub-Inspector, Ramesh, said.
