Sentry's mobile found on jail premises
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD,
FEB. 23.
Even as speculation was rife that some inmates of the Cherlapally jail masterminded the killing of the TDP MLA, Paritala Ravindra, using mobile phones, a cellphone belonging to a sentry constable was found on the jail premises on Wednesday.
The jail authorities are questioning the APSP constable, A. Nagababu, who was on guard duty at tower No. 6 in this connection. Confirming seizure of the phone, the Additional Inspector-General of Police (Jails), P. Narsimha Reddy, said it was a lapse on the part of the jail authorities.
Nagababu joined guard duty two days ago. The phone was found by the jail Deputy Superintendent, Keshava Naidu, during an inspection. Incidentally, the tower is close to the Mahanadi block in which Maddelacheruvu Suri, the life convict in the Jubilee Hills bomb blast case, is currently lodged.
