VISAKHAPATNAM: The public sector National Aluminium Company Ltd. Nalco was made a star trading house in 1991 and upgraded to super Star Trading House in 2000 for the steady growth in its export of aluminium metal and calcined alumina. A global player in alumina with an 8 per cent market share, Nalco has launched its second phase expansion to raise its alumina production to 21 lakh tonnes and metal production to 4.60 lakh tonnes. This involves an investment of Rs. 4,090 crores, which will be internally generated by the aluminium major.
