CHANDIGARH, FEB.24. A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, better known as PGI, here and the Medical University of Innsbruck, Austria, by the PGI Director, K.K. Talwar, and the Rector of the Innsbruck Medical University, Hans Grunicke. According to an official note issued by PGI, this understanding is an agreement to foster mutual cooperation in the field of postgraduate education and research to benefit both the Institutions considering the specific resources and special conditions each university offers. The collaborative research would be developed in basic medical and clinical sciences and public health. The objective also includes improving the quality and bringing in diversity of education programmes available in both the participating Institutions, thus increasing the research opportunities for the staff and students through exchange programmes.
