Dry weather likely in north Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI, FEB. 24. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu and south Kerala.

Dry weather prevailed over Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, north Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Thucklay and Eraniel (both Kanyakumari dt.) recorded 5 and 4 cms. rainfall respectively.

The minimum temperature rose appreciably at one or two places over Telangana, rose at one or two places over interior Karnataka, north coastal Andhra Pradesh, fell at one or two places over rest Telangana and changed little elsewhere over the region.

They were appreciably above normal at a few places over Andhra Pradesh, at one or two places over south Tamil Nadu, Kerala, above normal at many places over rest Tamil Nadu, at one or two places over rest Kerala, rest Andhra Pradesh, below normal at a few places over coastal Karnataka and were generally normal over the rest of the region.

FORECAST (valid until Saturday Morning): Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over south Tamil Nadu, south Kerala and Lakshadweep. Mainly dry weather will prevail over north Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and north Kerala.

Farmers weather bulletin for Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry (valid until the morning of 26th February 2005): Isolated light to moderate rain is likely to occur over south Tamil Nadu and mainly sunny weather will prevail over north Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.

Outlook for subsequent two days: No significant change.
