Manager sentenced

NEW DELHI,
FEB. 24.
A designated Delhi court today sentenced a former senior manager of a public sector bank to two years' rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 5 lakhs after finding him guilty of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. The Central Bureau of Investigation had registered the case on June 10, 1992.
According to a CBI spokesperson, R.K. Kaushik, who was a senior manager with the New Bank of India (Nehru Place Branch), was accused of amassing disproportionate worth Rs. 16.7 lakhs over a period of nine years, from April 1980 to December 1989. A chargesheet in this regard was filed in the court of Special Judge, Delhi, on December 24, 1999.
